TASTER SESSIONS AND PAYMENT STRUCTURE
Junior athletes (aged 8-16) must attend a taster session at the track before registering with the Club. Taster sessions are now held on the first Tuesday and Saturday of each month only. There is no need to book a taster session, and they are free to attend.
Athletes may join the Club in the school term in which they turn 8 years old.
After their taster if athletes wish to continue they must register via email invite to our member management mobile application. Please email [email protected] to receive your invite.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate new starters at any other sessions.
For taster sessions, please arrive 10 minutes early (5:50pm on Tuesdays, 9:50am on Saturdays) to allow for registration and introduction before the main session.
Junior training takes place as follows:
Tuesday: Coached track session
6pm to 7pm. Southwark Athletics Centre, Hawkstone Road, SE16 2PE. For ages 8-16 years. Registration closes shortly after 6pm: please arrive early so that the session can start on time. Athletes arriving 10mins late will not be allowed to join the session.
Saturday: Coached track session
10am to 11am. Southwark Athletics Centre, Hawkstone Road, SE16 2PE. For ages 8-16 years. Registration closes shortly after 10am: please arrive early so that the session can start on time. Athletes arriving 10mins late will not be allowed to join the session.
Take note: Latecomers will not be admitted once the warm-up is completed.
Athletes in Year 6 and below must be picked up by an older sibling or adult unless you have given us permission to allow them to leave on their own.
£16 per month (includes both Tuesday and Saturday sessions). Monthly payments are due 1st of each month.
All sessions are also available as £4.50 Pay As You Go.
You can set up a monthly direct debit, or pay by card at the track (no cash).
We currently provide training in the following disciplines:
- Distance Running
- Suitable clothing to run, jump and throw (there are currently no changing facilities).
- Trainers only (no heavy shoes). Athletes may also bring running spikes.
- Water (there is no water available at the track).
Athletes can enter any Open competition as a first claim England Athletics affiliated London City AC member. Parents are responsible for competition registration, payment, conditions and travel. Most Open competitions require you to have an England Athletics licence number and a Club vest. Affiliation to England Athletics costs £15. Please email us for information or ask someone at one of our sessions.
Club vests are available to order at londoncityac.org/kit or by asking a coach. If you’re unsure if you have an England Athletics licence number please email [email protected] and we can check for you.
Sessions are outdoors and are dependent on weather conditions. Please arrived changed as we currently do not have changing facilities. If a session has to be cancelled a text/email will be sent as soon as possible. Payment must be made in advance of sessions and can be set up for monthly direct debit. Sessions cannot be carried over to the next month if not attended. We cannot guarantee a place for your child if payment has not been made.

All our Committee Members and Member Coaches are volunteers and give their time for the benefit of the athletes. Your membership and track fees are used for League Affiliations, Track Hire, Equipment, EA Coaches etc. It is very rare that we close the track, but in the event of track closure due to inclement weather, we are unable to offer refunds for pre-paid track fees.
